I've been bowling a lot lately just for fun and I'm going to purchase a bowling ball.
Just wondering if anyone knew if there was a difference between Columbia blue dot and white dot bowling balls, or if it was just the name?
Both are polyester balls with pancake cores that will roll straight, regardless of the oil pattern. If performance is not an issue, buy the one that looks the best in the weight you're most comfortable with.
Im in 3 leagues and i have a Fury Pearl Right now and i am going to move up to 14lbs and i already have a black widow for heavy lanes for when i move up and i have a columbia white dot for my spare ball but i am still searching for a dry lane...
In my humble opinion, a bowler's arsenal isn't complete without a urethane ball and a polyester (plastic), both of which can be very handy on very dry lanes, despite what the posters above have stated.
You may not like throwing your plastic ball on dry lanes,

White House Shooting Suspect Charged With Trying to Kill Obama
Nov. 18 (Bloomberg) -- An Idaho man suspected of firing a semi-automatic rifle at the White House was charged with trying to kill President Barack Obama.
The suspect, Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez of Idaho Falls, drove to Washington with an assault rifle and other weapons after telling people in his home state that he “needed” to assassinate the president, according to documents filed in federal court in Washington. The attempted assassination charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Ortega-Hernandez, 21, appeared in federal court in Pittsburgh yesterday after his arrest the day before by Pennsylvania State Police at a hotel near Indiana, Pennsylvania. A U.S. magistrate judge ordered him held in custody pending proceedings in Washington, prosecutors said in an e-mailed statement.
Ortega-Hernandez has referred to Obama as “the anti- Christ” and “the devil,” according to documents filed in the case. He told associates that the federal government was conspiring against him and that Obama was the problem with the government and “needed to be taken care of,” Chris Ormerod, a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said in his affidavit.
Racial Jokes Weren't So Funny After All » The Joke Site
”On numerous occasions, plaintiff and other people that worked for the defendant made jokes that were racially charged,” Tucker says in his complaint in Richland County Court. “Such jokes were made by both white and black employees and were at times made in front of the plaintiff’s supervisors.” ”Other people who were sitting at the table were interviewed and reported that all three individuals were making racially charged jokes,” Tucker claims. “The plaintiff, however, was the only person terminated. The black employees were not disciplined for the jokes they made back to the plaintiff and were treated better than the plaintiff because of their race.” Random Joke Three Irishmen, Paddy, Sean and Shamus, were stumbling home from the pub late one night and found themselves on the road which led past the old graveyard....
Commune of women: Hail, Columbia! Part Two
Commune of Women is a novel about six women, trapped together in a small room, who must use their slender resources to survive and prevail by sharing everything: their hope and fear; their food; and their life stories, which grow deeper, darker and more intimate as the days pass.
Find Commune of Women at Amazon in either ebook or paperback. Where once there had been sheer walls of roughened marble, there were now lattices of wild grape. Blind alleyways that used to be excellent hiding places were now blocked by stout Trees of Heaven. Sloping boulders where we used to run and jump, safe on a skid-proof surface with a texture like coarse sandpaper, were now slick and un-scalable with thick coats of moss. I sat in the depths of this marble fortress and contemplated the passage of time and the recidivism of nature. Already, The Rocks of my childhood were gone. Their ghostly white had weathered and oxidized to dark gray. Thick...
