I've searched for tutorials on Google, YouTube, The Leaky Cauldron, and a few other sites...but nothing really gives me enough information on how to make a scarf like this.

There are a books that shows you how to knit. Go to your local library or bookstore. There are also knitting books in arts and crafts stores. There are Youtube videos that shows you how to knit. You cannot make a scarf without understanding the basics of knitting.
