Moodys Worldwide happy that British style reigns at Paris Fashion Week

With the Paris Fashion Week just gone, the fashion media is alight with praise for British designers. Highlights included Spring/Summer 2012 collections from the likes of Stella McCartney, Sarah Burton (for the late Alexander McQueen) and stand-out high fashion statements from Gareth Pugh. Many collections featured intricate styling, with lavish attention to detail and a heritage feel. The week was also noted for bringing a more wearable feel to many collections than in previous years.

Although there were notable exceptions such as the Gareth Pugh shows featuring bold outfits with a strong theme of horizontal prison-style bars, many collections reflected this season’s more considered ambiance.  Some made a departure from the towering high heels seen in recent years towards flat shoes. There was also a renaissance for the timeless elegance of the pencil skirt, worn at knee length.
