Knitting or Crocheting a Scarf?
TRUCIOLO- Lightweight Infinity Scarf Solid Grey

I've decided that I want to take up a new hobby this summer, and knitting/crocheting sounds quite fun. I intend my first project to be a simple scarf, but I'm not sure whether I should knit or crochet said scarf.

I've been crocheting for many many years and find it very relaxing and easy. It was pretty easy to learn, and I've taught a few people who picked it up VERY quickly (and I'm a lousy teacher).

Good crochet project?

I need a good crocheting project to keep busy. It's summer so I don't have much use for scarves and hats

How about crocheting a market bag or a cell phone pouch. Face cloths or dish rags go quick and are portable too. I've started making snuggle rugs for the Humane Society for the cat cages this Summer. Here's a link: http://crochet.about.com/library/bifreep atts1.html

Rainbow Ruffles Scarf - KnottyWares.com – Custom Crochet Artist ...

This fun scarf was made while I was a passenger. Sometimes I love watching things zoom by our of the corners of my eyes while I crochet…

This scarf is made of 2 types of yarn: Rainbow Eyelash yarn and Red Heart Yarn in Magenta. It is super soft and sold almost as fast as I created it.

Because it was made of donated yarn we donated all the proceeds to Salvation Army.

Sold For: $15

Winners of the Yarn, Knitting and Crochet Projects | The CSI Project

Hi there and welcome back to the CSI Project!

Again you made it a hard challenge to judge. So many great ideas!

I think this means the challenges need to get harder because you ladies are super talented.

You also very much impressed our guest judge, Allison, from A Glimpse Inside.

Here is what Allison said about her judging experience as a CSI judge,

“I so enjoyed being a judge here at The CSI Project. I was lucky enough to be the overall pick back in the summer of 2010 and have been in the top ten as well and it was so great to know that someone loved my projects as much as I did! I am definitely NOT a knitter or crocheter but I do love to work with yarn every now and then so I was so impressed while looking through all of your projects!! I just can’t imagine taking some needles (is that what they are called? lol) and yarn and creating the lovely creations that you all have submitted! SO IMPRESSED! I had a little trouble narrowing down the picks but I eventually did so here we go!”
